Call for police help on fake MLA letter

Bhubaneswar: The transport department has asked Koraput police to take action against an unidentified person who allegedly sent a petition to the regional transport officer (RTO), Bhubaneswar, by using a fake letterhead of the BJD’s Pottangi MLA Pitam Padhi, seeking action against a driver of the department.
“We recently received a petition on the MLA’s letterhead with his signature. In the petition, it was alleged that a driver of RTO-Bhubaneswar (1) submitted fake certificates to get the job. As we started an inquiry, we received another letter and a call from the MLA himself. The MLA clarified that he did not send any such letter against the driver,” a transport official said.
Based on the MLA’s original letter, the transport department wrote a letter to the Koraput police to identify and arrest the imposter.
