Coimbatore: Foundries Development Foundation (FDF) on Tuesday announced that it will be organizing an ‘inter-foundry inter-diecast exhibition and allied conference’ in the city between September 15 and 17.
This exhibition is promoted as South Asia’s first-of-its-kind international exhibition and allied conference focused on future technologies in equipment, process and materials of the foundry sector.
In a press conference here, FDF chairman R Palanisamy said Coimbatore has over 600 foundries generating crores of rupees via sales. “Foundrymen here have a very limited idea about the latest technological developments in all walks of the foundry sector despite its huge status as a foundry hub,” he added.
“Only when these technologies are brought to Coimbatore, the foundries here can witness them. Hence such an event has been arranged so that the entire foundry sector here can prosper,” he said.
Palanisamy said the exhibition will also include the latest software, automation, and industry 4.0 solutions.
Sources said about 180 exhibitors of the foundry industry from across the country and the globe will be participating in this fair. Among them, MNCs from Czechoslovakia, Germany and Thailand will have direct participation while Japan, Italy and China will have indirect participation through their dealers in India. Close to 20,000 to 25,000 visitors are expected to attend this exhibition cum allied conference.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Hans Raj Verma, chairman of Tamilnadu Industrial Investment Corporation (TIIC).
