Candidates who appeared in any of the six phases of the entrance test can download their scorecards at the official CUET UG website — cuet.samarth.ac.in
NTA conducted the first ever common entrance test for undergraduate admissions to universities between July 16 to August 30. A re-test was conducted on September 11 for considering the grievances of individual students. The provisional answer key was released on September 8. Candidates were given time till 5 pm of September 10 to challenge the answer key.
As per the official date, among all states, Uttar Pradesh had the highest turnout among all the states with 2,92,589 students appearing for the CUET. The second highest turnout was in Delhi with 1,86,405 students appearing for tests, followed by Bihar with 84,425. Meanwhile only 583 of 5,634 registered candidates took the test in Meghalaya logging the lowest attendance at 6.02 per cent. Overall 61.86 per cent candidates appeared in the CUET UG.
The entrance exam was held in 547 cities within India and in 13 cities outside India — Sri Lanka, Qatar, Doha, Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Nigeria, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah and Singapore.
According to an NTA official, who spoke to The Indian Express, the CUET scorecard will be similar to what a GRE or SAT report card is. It will only carry a candidate’s percentile and absolute (but normalised) marks in each domain subject. There will be no merit, rank or cut-off marks since there is no centralised admission counseling based on CUET score. Admissions based on CUET performance will be done individually by all participating universities. Read story here. Read more
There is no fail or passing mark. NTA will release the CUET scorecard along with the candidate’s percentile. The candidates will get admission into colleges/universities based on the merit lists of colleges/universities
Each participating university will have its own merit list based on the applications they have received. The merit lists will be released at the announcement of results by NTA. Students, who had earlier indicated their preference of universities at the time of registering for CUET UG, will then have to check the respective university merit lists to check if they are eligible for admission.
NTA to close CUET UG Application correction form window today at 5 pm. DU urges students to make changes accordingly
Delhi had the highest appearing percentage of 73.81, followed by Bihar (72.81), Uttar Pradesh (71), Leh and Ladakh (69.40), Haryana (65.15), Jharkhand (64.53), Jammu and Kashmir (62.25). At 60.71 and 60.50 respectively, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan attendance percentages were marginally below the national average.
The government did not favour using Board marks for admission because of the “diversity” in evaluation methods adopted by different Boards. “Some Boards are more generous than others in marking and this gives their students an unfair advantage over others,” said a government official who spoke on anonymity.
At this moment, CUET is compulsory for central universities but the government is open to other institutions, including private universities, adopting this examination instead of conducting their own. Unlike undergraduate studies, conducting admissions to postgraduate programmes through CUET is not compulsory for central universities. Therefore, they are free to adopt CUET for PG admissions or stick to their own admission process for now.
The CUET Scorecard will look quite different from the one issued by the NTA to JEE Main and NEET candidates. Here’s what it will reflect:
1. Candidate's name, roll number, application number and photograph
2. Candidate's father's name and mother's name
3. Category (General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwD)
4. Gender
