Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:34AM

Karma Energy(up 9.98%), Energy Development Company(up 9.79%), NTPC(up 1.73%), DPSC(up 1.67%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.15%), Transmission(up 1.11%), KEC International(up 0.85%), Limited(up 0.74%) and NHPC(up 0.68%) were among the top gainers.

RTNPOWER(down 4.50%), Indowind Energy(down 3.85%), Reliance Power(down 3.74%), Suzlon Energy(down 3.14%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 2.36%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 1.78%), JSW Energy(down 1.63%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 1.60%), Inox wind(down 1.59%) and ADANIGREEN(down 1.58%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 144.05 points down at 17926.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 507.06 points at 60064.02 at around 10:34AM.

NTPC(up 1.7%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.17%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.11%), State Bank of India(up 1.08%), Coal India(up 0.91%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.69%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.62%), Shree Cement(up 0.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.46%) and ITC(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Infosys(down 4.23%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.44%), Tata Consultancy(down 3.17%), HCL Technologies(down 2.13%), Wipro(down 1.98%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.83%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.66%), Tata Steel(down 1.39%), Tata Motors(down 1.36%) and SBI Life(down 1.36%) were trading in the red.
