Men cleaning vacant land find grenade

Ludhiana: Panic gripped Preet Vihar area when labourers found a grenade from a plot while cleaning garbage on Tuesday afternoon.
After receiving information, the bomb disposal team reached the spot. Assistant commissioner of police (ACP, East) Gurdeb Singh, sub-inspector Jagdeep Singh, SHO ofMeharban police station were part of the team. Sacks of sand were kept around the area to prevent any untoward incident.
Police officials said that it was a defused hand grenade and may have been taken as scrap. It has been handed over to the bomb disposal team for further examination, police said.
