Rajkot: A divisional controller of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) in Bhavnagar was nabbed allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 at his residence on Monday night.
According to anti-corruption bureau sleuths, the divisional controller Ashok Parmar was caught taking bribe money from a private bus operator plying buses between Mahuva and Palitana in Bhavnagar.
The private bus operator’s complaint stated that Parmar was demanding Rs 50,000 every month for not seizing his buses for boarding passengers from near the GSRTC bus stands and allowing him to do business smoothly. ACB officials said that after the private bus operator filed a complaint against Parmar, they laid a trap and caught him red-handed at his residence. As soon Parmar accepted the money from the complainant and put the money in the pocket of his shorts the ACB sleuths nabbed him. On Tuesday, the ACB raided Parmar’s office and his house. They also froze his bank account and are analyzing his bank transitions.
