Kanpur: Several city students have cracked Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) - Advanced. These students would now be able to secure admission in undergraduate courses such as BTech at IITs, IIITs and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The admission process to IITs and other top engineering institutions commenced on Monday.
Admission would be offered to students across 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs and 30 GFTIs (Government Funded Technological Institutes). These institutions are offering a total of 54,477 seats to the students. The admission process could go on for a month. A total of 1,55,538 students had appeared in JEE Advanced this year. Of this, 40,712 students have qualified. RK Shishir of IIT Bombay zone emerged as All India Topper of JEE-Advanced. He scored 314 marks out of 360. A total of 6,516 girl students out of 40,712 candidates have qualified JEE Advanced. Tanishka Kabra of IIT-Delhi zone has emerged as all India topper among girls. She has scored AIR 16. She got 277 marks out of 360. A total of 296 foreign students had applied for appearing in JEE Advanced. Of this total, 280 students appeared in the exam. Of 280, 145 students cracked JEE Advanced.TNN
