Gyanvapi mosque title case: Will challenge the order in Allahabad HC, says AIM lawyer Merajuddin Siddaqui

VARANASI: Anjuman Intezamia Masajid, the Gyanvapi mosque management committee, on Monday said it will challenge the district judge Ajay Kumar Vishvesha's order that turned down its petition against maintainability of the case filed by five women plaintiffs seeking right to worship Shringar Gauri and other deities in the Gyanvapi mosque compound.
AIM lawyer Merajuddin Siddaqui said, "We will talk about this 26-page order in detail after going through each and every point."
"But, it is sure that we will file a revision petition before Allahabad High Court against the order as all our arguments to prove applicability of Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 (Act no. 42 of 1991), The Waqf Act 1995 (Act no. 43 of 1995) and the U.P. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Act, 1983 (Act no. 29 of 1983) have been overlooked," he added.
"These laws were made by constitutional bodies and we have mentioned the provisions made in them," he added.
Regarding the bid of moving High Court in April this year, he said, "We had gone to HC to challenge the appointment of advocate commissioner for court commission survey of Gyanvapi mosque by the civil judge (senior division). But, our plea was not accepted."
"Later, Anjuman Intezamia Masajid took shelter of the Supreme Court in May and it transferred the case from civil judge (senior division) court to district judge court," he further added.
