Rajasthan: FIR after occultist rapes 50-year-old woman and daughter-in-law

JAIPUR: A 50-year-old woman and her daughter-in-law were raped allegedly by an occultist who had taken their nude pictures. As blackmailing of the occultist increased, the women finally lodged an FIR at the Bhankrota police station in Jaipur. Police have recorded the statements of the women and have begun investigation in the matter.
According to the police, the 50-year-old woman was ailing almost four years ago and she used to visit a medical store situated in the Bhankrota police station area.
“During that time a man identified as Jayendra met her and claimed that she was possessed and needed his intervention as he claimed to be a tantrik. He invited the woman and her daughter-in-law for special puja where he asked both of them to sit naked. Thereafter, the man also clicked their pictures. Since then he started blackmailing them on the pretext of making their pictures public,” said a senior officer of Bhankrota police station on Monday. The women stated that in their initial meetings the accused posed to be a very sober and knowledgeable person. However, in one of the meeting he hypnotised the women and asked them to sit naked.
The women in their FIR have also stated that the accused through blackmailing had also taken Rs 20 lakh and jewellery from them. “When his demands increased, and they failed to fulfil them they decided to lodge an FIR. As the case is registered now, we have taken their statements and have started looking for the accused,” the officer added. During the meetings he had claimed that the 50-year-old woman was possessed and her daughter-in-law also needed to get rid of the supernatural powers, police added.
According to the women, they were raped on April 21, 2021, but both remained quiet due to shame. However, when the accused began demanding money, they broke their silence.
