52-year-old man dies as tree falls on hutment in Bhayander

MUMBAI: A 52-year-old man died after a tree collapsed on his hutment in Bhayander on Tuesday morning. The Mira-Bhayander region received heavy rainfall since Monday night.
Pandurang Diva was crushed underneath the debris when a huge tree fell on his hutment at Utan in Bhayander (west) at around 6.30am. His wife and daughter escaped with minor bruises.
Locals pulled out Diva from the debris and rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead. He sustained serious head injuries.
A yellow alert has been issued in Thane district by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
