Bhubaneswar: People from Ghunghutipara slum in Sambalpur city, who were displaced due to the ongoing Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economy Initiatives (SAMALEI) project, staged a rally at Lower PMG here on Monday demanding proper compensation. It is planned for beautification and development of the 16th century Samaleswari Temple.
The protesters also submitted a memorandum to chief minister Naveen Patnaik over their demand. “There are around 225 households in the slum. No notice has been served and no survey has been conducted before the process of eviction started,” said the memorandum.TNN
