GURUGRAM: A 29-year-old man, who worked for
KPMG in the city, died on Friday after a speeding Swift hit his bike on Golf Course Road.
The car driver left the Swift at the spot and fled, a police officer said, adding that an FIR was registered on Sunday. The biker, identified as Ananyo Bandyopadhyay, is originally from
Jharkhand and had joined the MNC some six months ago.
Police said he had reached the underpass opposite Global Foyer Mall on Golf Course Road when the speeding car hit his bike.
The impact of the collision was such that the victim landed quite a few metres away from the accident spot.
Passers-by picked up the victim and rushed him to a private hospital. One of them also contacted his father and informed him about the accident. The father, Pradeep, said he received a call at 12.50 am and rushed to Gurugram. An FIR has been registered at the Sushant Lok police station under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
“We are trying to track down the driver of the car. He is absconding,” the police officer said.
