3 arrested for running online betting racket during Asia Cup

SHAMLI: Three members of a gang, who used an online app to run a betting racket in the entire NCR during the Asia Cup matches, were arrested on Sunday.
The arrested have been identified as Honey Mittal and Vishu Garg, both residents of Shamli and Muzaffarnagar-based Sandeep Bansal. Their gang leader, identified as Ashish Single, is at large. He is also a resident of Muzaffarnagar.
A laptop, an iPad, seven mobile phones and Rs 41,200 in cash were recovered from the arrested persons' possession. Police have information about people involved in online betting through the app from different districts of NCR.
Shamli SP Abhishek (goes by his first name) said, "We received inputs of online betting during the Asia Cup. A SWAT team arrested three culprits, but the gang leader Ashish is still absconding."
