AHMEDABAD: Light to moderate rain continued in the city for the third day in a row on Monday: The city received 12mm of rain.
Sarkhej received the most rainfall, 57.5mm, followed by Jodhpur with 43mm, Chandkheda 26mm, Bodakdev 28 mm, Bopal 24mm, Usmanpura 23.5mm, and both Science City and Chandlodia got 21mm. The most rain fell between 1pm and 4pm. Traffic was disrupted in many areas due to waterlogging.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, a cyclonic circulation over the east central Arabian Sea will bring rain across the state on Tuesday. While heavy rain is expected in Anand, Vadodara, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath, other districts may get light thundershowers, the forecast said.
Met department officials said Dahod was the only district to have recorded a deficit in rainfall, three districts have recorded 'large excesses', 11 have received 'excess rainfall' and other districts have received normal rainfall. The city and state have already reached 100% of the average annual rainfall.
