Panaji: An educational trust has set out to host ‘one of the biggest school quiz contests’ for students from Class VII to X on the subject of India @75. A unique feature of the quiz is that schools can send as many teams as they wish. The quiz will be held across all the 12 talukas in Goa. The teams that emerge taluka champions will compete at two semi-finals made of six teams each. At the semi-finals three teams will qualify from each group and go on to vie for the grand state level finale. The quiz is focused on India and its freedom movement.
The all-Goa, India @75 school quiz is being held by Maria Crescencia Menezes memorial educational trust and the first set of quizzing started on Sep 10 at Bicholim for the two talukas of Bicholim and Sattari at Keshav Sadhana School in Sarvane. Rotary Clubs across the state are the organising partners at every taluka.
The next set of contests will be held on September 15 at Mapusa for Bardez taluka. The teams must consist of two students from the same school and there will be a written round from which six teams will qualify for an on-stage taluka level final, organisers said.
