Ranchi: With the Delhi high court issuing an order on Monday restricting the Lokpal’s office from pursuing the case against JMM chief Shibu Soren till December 13, 2022, the party has expressed satisfaction and ridiculed BJP for its “nefarious ways to destabilize” the mahagathbandhan government in Jharkhand.
JMM spokesperson and the party’s central committee Supriyo Bhattacharya in a press statement claimed that BJP and its Godda MP Nishikant Dubey were left “red-faced” after the decision of the Delhi high court.
“Being thrown away from power in Jharkhand, BJP is growing uneasy for the past couple of years and hence they have been making efforts to destabilise the government by targeting JMM chief Shibu Soren, chief minister Hemant Soren, his cabinet colleagues and party legislators by levelling false charges against them,” Bhattacharya said.
BJP MP Dubey had filed a case of disproportionate assets against the senior Soren, who is a Rajya Sabha MP and JMM president, before the Lokpal on August 5, 2020, following which the Lokpal had directed the CBI to investigate the matter through an order on September 15, 2020. The senior Soren had challenged the direction of Lokpal at the Delhi high court, which stayed the order of the Lokpal till the court hears the matter further on December 13.
