Gurugram: Mercury may drop to 32°C by Thursday

GURUGRAM: The city reported another warm and humid day on Monday with the maximum temperature at 35.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department, Tuesday too is likely to remain dry with partly cloudy conditions. Some respite, however, is expected from Wednesday, with IMD predicting rain on the day. By Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to fall to 32 degrees.
The city is reeling under a rainfall deficit, with a shortfall of 93% so far in September. Between September 1 and 12, Gurugram only recorded 3.7mm rainfall against the normal of 52.1mm.
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a slight rise in the maximum temperature on Monday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.3 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season’s average. The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average. Najafgarh remained the warmest area in the city on Monday with mercury at 38.2 degrees Celsius.
