Humidity high in Gurugram, IMD says no showers likely for two days

Maximum temperature was recorded at 36.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday
GURUGRAM: The city saw yet another warm and humid day on Sunday. Though the weather station in the city did not record the temperature on Sunday, the automatic weather station recorded the maximum temperature at 36.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
According to the IMD, there is no immediate relief from sultry weather at least fo next two days with only possibility of isolated showers, while light to moderate rainfall may occur on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sunday began with a sunny note but towards the afternoon it became cloudy, however, devoid of any rains. Monday will be partly cloudy with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. The minimum and maximum temperature is expected to hover around 27 and 35 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Also, the city's air quality index deteriorated slightly but it remained in the moderate category.
The overall AQI reading was at 178 as compared to 149 a day earlier.
Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a slight rise in daytime temperature even as the weather department expects no major or high intensity rain for the next few days apart from drizzle at some isolated areas. High humidity and daytime temperature increased the discomfort on Sunday afternoon.
According to the IMD, at Safdarjung, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, against 36.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
The minimum temperature on Sunday was 26.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, against 27.6 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
According to the weather analysts, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Monday may hover around 35 and 27 degree Celsius, respectively. The weather department also expects the city to receive rain on Wednesday when the maximum temperature may drop to 31 degree Celsius.
The air quality of the city improved to satisfactory. On Sunday, the Air Quality Index (AQI), on a scale of 0 to 500, was recorded at 85 against 110 a day earlier.
