Accomplished author Neil Gaiman slammed the world's richest man, Elon Musk, for criticising the new series 'The Rings of Power' which is a prequel to the iconic franchise 'Lord of the Rings'.
The Tesla chief , who is quite savvy on social media, had recently taken to Twitter to share his disappointment after watching the first episodes of the much-awaited series, 'The Rings of Power'.
But Musk's review didn't go down well with celebrated writer Gaiman, who took a subtle dig at the businessman.
A person on Twitter had asked the 'Sandman' author what he thinks about Musk's comment on the series. The 61-year-old replied with a sly dig at Musk's Twitter controversy.
"Elon Musk doesn't come to me for advice on how to fail to buy Twitter, and I don't go to him for film, TV or literature criticism," Gaiman tweeted.
In another tweet, the comic book creator clarified that he is not connected to 'The Rings of Power', but he watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them.
"None. I’ve watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them. Apart from that I just made the mistake of answering a question when someone tagged me," he added.
The TV series, which started airing from September 2 on Amazon's streaming platform, has been receiving rave reviews on the Internet from across the world.
But Musk doesn't seem to be a fan. "Tolkien is turning in his grave," the billionaire had said last week.
In another tweet, Musk emphasised that every male character in 'The Rings of Power' so far in the show is a "coward, and a jerk or both."
"Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both," Musk tweeted. "Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice."
The TV series is said to be a personal obsession of Bezos.
J. R. R. Tolkien is the writer behind the iconic novel 'The Lord of the Rings' which was turned into a series of three epic fantasy adventure films by director Peter Jackson.
