HYDERABAD: Doctors working in Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the State will soon get vehicle allowance. In a meeting with Telangana Public Health Doctors Association (TPHDA) on Sunday, Health Minister T Harish Rao issued instructions to health officials to release the allowance immediately.

“We have to go to the field and medical camps during the monsoon season when vector-borne and water-borne diseases increase. That’s why we have requested the Health Minister to issue travel allowance for doctors,” said Dr Kathi Jangam, President of TPHDA. An allowance of Rs 33,000 has been proposed for each PHC.
