IIT-B director wishes toppers before results released online

MUMBAI: R V Krishna Kumar, Shishir’s father, never thought they would not have to log into the high-traffic internet to check the JEE (Advanced) result at 10am. For 15 minutes before that, IIT-B director Subhasis Chaudhuri called up Shishir to congratulate him. “He told us that he wanted to pre-intimate us personally about Shishir’s achievement. It was a surprise that the director would call on us,” said Shishir’s father who attended the call.
Chaudhuri also called up Tanishka Kabra, the girl topper of the country. “He congratulated me and wished me good luck,” Tanishka told TOI. Chaudhuri said, “It was nice to talk to the toppers and their parents. After all, they are the brightest of the country’s youth.”
