J’khand students fare well in JEE(A)

Ranchi/ Jamshedpur/ Bokaro: Suryansh Srijan of Delhi Public School (DPS) Ranchi bagged an All Indian Ranking (AIR) of 51 in the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE-A), the results of which were declared on Sunday.
The DPS management said its student Aditya Prakash also secured AIR 70 and he along with Srijan was ranked among the top five students in the Bhubaneshwar zone of the examination comprising Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal.
The school further said more than 50 students, including Vikas Kumar Ojha (AIR 157), Aviral Singh (AIR 455), Sasmit Aditya (AIR 1554), Vipul Vaibhav (AIR 1,801), Samridhi Sahay (AIR 1,901), Anupam Gaurav (AIR 1,925) and Seersh Sen (1,975), also cracked the examination. Samridhi is also the Ranchi city topper among the girls.
The school’s principal, Dr Ram Singh, congratulated the students, their parents and the teachers for their performance.
A Ranchi-based coaching institute, Brother’s Academy, also said Tanish Agrawal of Jawahar Vidya Mandir Shyamli has scored AIR 57. The director of the academy, Paras Agrawal, said, “Our students have done well in JEE-A and brought laurels to the academy and the city. Six students have scored a place in the top 1000 in general and other categories.”
Narbheram Hansraj English School said its student Kunal Kathuria topped the school securing AIR 5,482 and he was closely followed by Rishav Kamal with AIR 6,073 and Pranav Mangal Pandey with AIR 6,179. Shashank Shekhar, Prem Kumar Lohani and Siddharth Raj also obtained AIR -7617, 8214 and 9502 respectively, the school said. The school managing committee members and the principal, Paramita Roychaudhury, congratulated the students on their achievements.
Reports from Jamshedpur said a student of DBMS English High School, Kadma, Devraj Karmakar, has topped in the Kolhan division in the examination with an AIR of 128. He scored 228 out of 360 marks.
“Hard work and perseverance paid off. My school teachers also never let me down, whenever I approached them for help to solve problems. My parents are my biggest source of strength,” Devraj said.
He also said he never studied for long hours, but made his approach short and objective. Besides, Devraj said he effectively used the YouTube platform for collecting notes for the examination.
Sources said a total of 811 candidates appeared for the JEE Advanced from Jamshedpur, out of whom 150 qualified.
In Bokaro, Arbind Kumar Sharma of Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS), Bokaro got AIR 288 in the examination. The GGPS also said five more of its students cracked the JEE-A The students are Nishant Kumar Mahato (AIR 7,966), Saurav Shekhar (AIR 9,050), Lalit Narayan (AIR 13,825) and Aditya Pratap Singh AIR (22,140). GGPS principal Soumen Chakraborty praised the successful students for their feat.
As many as 29 students from DPS Bokaro have also cracked the examination.
