GURUGRAM: A 13-year-old boy has confessed to killing his classmate, an 11-year-old, inside a madrassa in Nuh because the juvenile did not want to study there and believed that such an incident would force the institution to close down, police said.

He was apprehended and sent to a correction home on Sunday.
The incident is a stark reminder of the 2017 murder of a Class 2 boy inside the washroom of a prominent school in Gurugram .
A Class 11 student of the school was held for the crime, with investigators saying he had slit the boy's throat to get examinations postponed and a parent-teacher meeting cancelled.
On September 3, the 11-year-old boy's family in Nuh said he didn't return from the madrassa, where he studied Urdu and Arabic languages. Two days later, his partially decomposed body was found inside the madrassa after some staff members noticed a stench emanating from a room.
Initially, two teachers and a cook at the madrassa had been questioned, but police could not find any breakthrough clues to steer their investigation.
On September 8, the 13-year-old confided in his father that he had killed the boy because he didn't want to attend the classes.
Shocked, the father told one of the village elders who asked him to report it to the police. The father recounted the juvenile's confession to the cops a day later, police said.
"For the next two days, the juvenile kept changing his statements, apparently out of fear. He later confessed to the crime," a police officer said.
While being questioned, the juvenile told police he was overwhelmed by attending the language classes at the madrassa, and his parents did not allow him to skip them. He had joined the madrassa six months back.
Eventually, he thought of killing his 11-year-old classmate on a Saturday as more people would visit the place on the weekend and he would not draw attention to himself.
"He wanted to make the madrassa seem unsafe, so it would never reopen," the officer added.
On September 3 (Saturday), when the children went out to play, the juvenile convinced the boy to stay back with him as the two of them used to play together.
"When no one was around, the juvenile hit the 11-year-old in the face several times and strangled him. The boy fell to the ground, unconscious," the police officer said, citing the confession.
The post-mortem report said the boy died of injuries to the back of his head and on his face.
Minutes later, the juvenile said, he dragged the boy's body and buried it under sand. It was found by the cleaning staff at the madrassa two days later.
"The juvenile boy was apprehended on Sunday and sent to a correction home in Faridabad," the officer said.
