AHMEDABAD: A 33-year-old man from the Motera area of the city on Saturday filed a complaint with the Chandkheda police stating that three motorcycle-borne men robbed him of Rs 39,000 at gunpoint and also slashed his knees while robbing him on September 4.
Ruchik Dave, a resident of Sangath Apartments who runs a cafe near Karnavati Club on SG Road, said in his FIR that he was returning to his home when the incident took place.
Dave said that he had Rs 25,500 cash and his cellphone.
He went to an ATM to deposit cash on Koteshwar Road in Motera, but the machine was not working. When he was returning to his home, three men on a motorcycle chased him and forced him to stop by obstructing Dave's motorcycle with their vehicle.
The three men slashed his knees due to which he fell on road. They, then, thrashed him badly and took away Rs 25,500 cash and his cellphone worth Rs 14,000 along with his debit card.
Dave said in the FIR that three men attacked him with a revolver's butt and kept it pointed towards him during the robbery. The three men took out Dave's motorcycle key which they threw away.
Dave went to a hospital and took primary treatment for his injuries. But as he was scared with the robbery, he did not approached police first.
Later, he knew that a resident of Chadnkheda named Anand Sharma, 55, was also robbed by three motorcycle-borne men of his cellphone worth Rs 8,000. Dave approached Chandkheda police on Saturday and filed a complaint of robbery and abetment against three unknown men.
