KOCHI:  Verapoly Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil on Sunday urged the faithful not to give up their faith and devotion in times of crisis. "Those who are struggling for their rights in Vizhinjam and Moolampilly should be dedicated to the Holy mother and prayed for," he said.

The archbishop was speaking during the conclusion of the 18th Vallarpadam Marian Pilgrimage and four-day Bible convention services, held at Vallarpadam basilica. 

The Marian pilgrimage programmes started with the rosary on Sunday at 3.30 pm. The solemn pontifical Mass was offered by Rev Kalathiparampil. The priests of the archdiocese were concelebrants. 

Rev Dr Antony Sijan Manuveliparambil preached the word.

Rev Dr Antony Valumkal Rector of Vallarpadam Basilica announced that the feast of Saint Vallarpadathamma will begin on September 16 with flag hoisting. It will end on September 24.

The eight-day festival will be celebrated on October 1.
