TRICHY: Telangana governor and lieutenant governor of Puducherry Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday slammed DMK’s mouthpiece Murasoli for “ridiculing” her.
A few days ago, Tamilisai had addressed a press conference in Telangana to mark the ‘Beginning of Fourth Year in the Service of People of Telangana’ and criticised the Telangana government led by chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao for disrespecting a woman governor and not following protocols. On Monday, Murasoli criticised her for the remarks.
Speaking to reporters at Trichy airport on Monday, Tamilisai said, “My interview was intended to tell the people that the Indian culture of inviting the guests is not being followed in Telangana. I shared both good things and what did not go well. My work will continue whether I am respected or not.”
“I am wondering how one can be happy about a brethren being disrespected in another state. As far as I am concerned, my blood will boil if our people are shown disrespect somewhere else,” she added.
