MUMBAI: The Gamdevi police have arrested a 35-year-old peon, working in a prominent south Mumbai school, for allegedly sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl in the school. He also made a video call to her, and exposed his private parts, police said.
An FIR was registered on Thursday. "The girl was subjected to sexual harassment over the past one-and-a-half months. The accused had kissed the minor girl twice and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about it," said police. The accused is married and lives in Thane.
The incident came to light after the girl narrated the incidents to her mother, who lodged a complaint with police. The police arrested the accused from his house, and seized his mobile phone. "It will be sent to the forensic science laboratory for cyber analysis," said an officer.
The accused has been booked for molestation, stalking, criminal intimidation under the IPC and sections of the POCSO Act, 2012 and section 67 (punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.
