Over 50 fall sick after drinking polluted water in Karnataka

KALABURAGI: Fifty people, including children, were hospitalised after drinking contaminated water in Mandeval village in Jevargi taluk in Kalaburagi district here on Saturday.
Most of them were rushed to the hospital with symptoms of dysentery.
The water pipes in the village have corroded and developed holes through which rain water and slush have entered mixing with the water supplied to households in Mandeval village.
Twenty people have been admitted to the taluk hospital, 20 in Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences while 10 were treated as outpatients.
