GURUGRAM: Taking cognisance of the repeated claims that the ongoing transfer drive has rendered several schools teacherless or with fewer educators, the chief minister has directed the state education department to wrap up the transfer drive within two days.
The CM, while taking stock of the situation on Friday, directed the education department officials that the transfer drive should not be dragged any further. “Wrap up the process within two days. Ensure that no school should be without a teacher and that the studies of the students are not hampered due to this.”
The school education department has claimed that the transfer process is nearly complete and only 8,000 teachers are remaining who have to be issued new transfer orders. “ We completed the first round of transfer last month and the second round is also nearing completion. We are on track and will comply with the directions of the CM,” said a senior secondary education department official.
The education department has rolled out the transfer drive under its rationalisation drive to address the issue of shortage of teachers at various government schools across the state.
