Thane: Cops arrest youth, detain minor with 4,700 gram ganja

THANE: Mumbra police have arrested a youth, and have detained a minor for possession of 4,700gm ganja.
The 23-year-old arrested accused has been identified as Faizal Mohammad Aslam Salmani aka Raja, a barber from Amrutnagar.
Assistant Police Inspector Krupali Borse said that acting on a tip that some persons were to bring in ganja to in town to sell, they laid a trap and intercepted the duo at a specific location. Upon carrying out the search, the police found the contraband from their possession, and seized 4700 gm ganja worth Rs 38,050.
A case has been registered under sections 8(c), 20, and 29 of the NDPS act, and the duo have been remanded to police custody for further probe.
The cops are now looking for the source from where the accused received the drug, and who were they supposed to sell, as they must be having a huge client base in and around the Thane city.
