LUDHIANA: Police recovered 37,600 intoxicating pills and 1.50kg opium with the arrest of four persons in two separate cases. In the first case, CIA-II of Ludhiana police commissionerate arrested Tosif Alam of Tibba Road, who hails from Kishanganj, Bihar. Police recovered intoxicating pills from his possession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigation Varinder Singh Brar said Tosif was arrested from a checkpost near Geeta Nagar. He was on a motorcycle. On checking, police said they found 37,600 pills, including Alprazolam and
Tramadol on him.
DCP Brar said that during questioning, Tosif said he used to procure pills from a person named Kuldeep Singh of Gopal Nagar, Tibba road and his nephew, Prince. Police have booked both Kuldeep and Prince in the case. It was found that Kuldeep had already been arrested by Tibba Police on September 4 with 1,320 pills.
Police also arrested three persons, Varinder Paswan, Arvinder Kumar and Yogesh Kumar from Dholewal and recovered 500gm opium from each of them.
