GREATER NOIDA: GNIDA officials conducted field inspections on Friday and issued a warning to contractors after finding horticulture and sanitation waste lying around several sectors. They instructed the contractors to ensure daily sweeping and garbage pick-ups.
The move comes after residents of sectors, including Beta 1, Eta 1, Delta, Omicron, etc., complained about the lack of sanitation in their areas. "In Sector Beta 1, while the sweepers have kept mounds of horticulture waste on the sides of the road, they pick up garbage from the streets once in three days," said Harinder Bhati, a resident of the sector. "There is a provision to sweep the entire sector daily along with picking up garbage every day.
The contractors have been warned with penalty if any negligence is found," said Surendra Bhati, manager, GNIDA public health department.
