
Mohali police Saturday arrested an accomplice of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and recovered 11 pistols, three live cartridges and a luxury car.
A team led by SP (Investigation) Amandeep Singh Brar, DSP (Investigation) Gursher Singh and CIA staff in-charge Inspector Shiv Kumar arrested Manpreet Singh alias Bhima, a resident of Doraha in Ludhiana arrested. Mohali SSP Vivek Sheel Soni said that Manpreet is an old accomplice of Sunil Kumar alias Monu Gujjar, Jasmeet Singh alias Lucky, both residents of Hoshiarpur, and Nikhil Kant Sharma of Patiala.
SSP Soni said that the accused was carrying a 9mm Glock pistol and 10 country made .32 bore pistols with three live cartridges. Police also recovered a luxury BMW car from the accused which was allegedly used to supply the drugs.
The car is registered in Jasmeet’s name. The accused is also said to be close to criminals like Sunil Kumar alias Monu Gujjar.
“All these weapons were supplied by Ashwani Kumar alias Sarpanch to Manpreet and his other two accomplices Jasmeet and Nikhil,” the SSP said.
He added that Ashwani Kumar Sarpanch had already been arrested by the district police, from near Christian School in Kharar. SSP Soni also said that the accused Manpreet had not provided shelters to the shooters involved in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.
