BERHAMPUR: A day after a false ceiling collapsed on the fifth floor of the super-speciality block of MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, a chunk of concrete slab fell on the second floor of the same block on Friday.
No one was hurt in the mishap which took place in the endocrinology department as the concrete slab fell on the side of a bed, a senior officer said. At least six operation theatres of four departments on the fifth floor of the block are not functioning after a fire broke out in the operation theatre of the plastic surgery department on August 26.
“We have already written to the building construction engineers after the incident. A technical expert team is likely to visit the site and take appropriate remedial measures,” said Santosh Kumar Mishra, superintendent of MKCG.
