Probe conversion angle: Shivraj Singh Chouhan on cash seizure case

JABALPUR/BHOPAL : “Religious conversions or other illegal activities will not be allowed in the name of religion at any cost,” said MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday, following EOW searches at the residential and official premises of bishop PC Singh, a senior official of Church of North India, in Jabalpur.
EOW said it recovered Rs 1. 6crore in cash and $18,432 apart from documents of other properties during the searches. The CM ordered EOW to also inquire if the assets recovered during the raids were being used for illegal activities. Furthermore, district administrations will investigate if there was tax evasion or stamp duty evasion , Chouhan added.
