Nearly 36 organisations affiliated to the sangh parivar, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, will present a summary of their performances over the last one year and the best practices they have adopted at the three-day RSS Samanvay (coordination) meeting that will start in Raipur today.
While RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale will preside over the meetings, BJP president JP Nadda and national organisation secretary BL Santhosh will also participate in the meetings.
RSS prachar pramukh Sunil Ambekar said the coordination meeting was a samuhik manthan (collective brainstorming) of nationalist organisations to improve their work for the society.
Swalimbhit Bharat Yojna, a campaign announced by the RSS some months ago to present an indigenous Bharatiya economic and employment model keeping the welfare of villages at the centre, and massive expansion of the RSS planned for the organisation's centenary year next year are among other issues that are likely to be discussed.
The RSS- BJP meeting comes when the BJP has made significant changes to its parliamentary board, mainly by dropping senior minister Nitin Gadkari who is known to have good relations with the RSS chief.
The RSS has yet to react to the attack launched by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in its Bharat Jodo Yatra, where he has accused the Sangh parivar for dividing people on the lines of religion and destroying institutions. Nadda is already on a four-day tour of Chattisgarh where the BJP is amplifying its campaign for polls next year.
According to senior functionaries of the organisation, economic distress in many parts are among other concerns that RSS leaders have been raising. All the six sangh parivar affiliated organisations associated with education have specifically been asked to ensure the implementation of NEP across the country, another functionary said.
Last year the meeting was held in Bengaluru in January, after being delayed by Covid-19 omicron variant cases.
