Prayagraj lad's 'internet cafe on wheels' inspires many

PRAYAGRAJ: Twenty-three-year-old Shivam Gupta doesn't have any professional degree in computers but he is an expert in getting online forms and applications filled through his mobile internet "thela".
Having no funds to open a permanent internet cafe, Shivam found a "thela" - an inexpensive mode to set up his mobile internet cafe.
Now, Shivam's internet cafe on wheels has become talk of the town and encouraging others to work on innovative ideas to earn their livelihood.
"After leaving my job at an automobile plant in Manesar, I had no work to do to meet my daily expenses. It had become very difficult for my family to survive. It was then that I came up with this idea of developing a mobile internet centre that runs on inverter. He somehow collected Rs 55,000 and purchased a thela and other computer equipment to start his business." Called 'RCG Global Services', this internet cafe has a laptop, inverter, a printer, a keyboard, a mouse apart from wi-fi facility. He moves his mobile internet thela from RTO office in Naini to other adjoining areas.
With mobile internet facility available outside the RTO (Naini) office and subsequent sizeable number of visitors visiting the mobile internet cafe, Shivam has also offered employment to more youths.
Now, one can book travel tickets, transfer money, get printouts at the mobile internet cafe. Shivam now earns Rs 30,000-35000 per month.
"After the death of my father in 2018, it was quite difficult for me and my family as he was the only breadwinner. Then I had opened a tea stall. But it did not work. So, I took a chance to open a mobile internet cafe as I have adequate knowledge of computers and online working despite having no professional degree or courses," Shivam said. He added "Now, I am able to take better care of my family, including mother and sisters." Shivam advised youths not to lose heart and do their best till they achieve their goals even if there are hurdles in the way.
