Rajasthan: Man gets life imprisonment for raping minor in Churu

BIKANER: The Churu Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court convicted a 30-year-old man for raping a 10-year-old girl in August 2021and sentenced him to life imprisonment. He was also fined a penalty of Rs 68,000.
Senior public prosecutor, Varun Saini said that while pronouncing the judgment, the court commented that the accused of such a heinous crime does not deserve any leniency. He said that the case was registered on August 29, 2021 at Sadar police station of Sujangarh and the investigating officer filed the charge sheet within 20 days of registering the offence.
The victim along with her 5-year-old sister was going to buy milk, when the accused Birju Singh abducted her. The accused took her to his house and raped her. The girl was found bleeding and the accused was caught while he was trying to escape from the spot. The court examined 13 witnesses and several documentary evidence during the hearings and pronounced the judgment within a year. TNN
