For tapping the tourism prospective of UP, the state government has established District Tourism and Cultural Promotion Council (DTCPC) in each district.
The procedure has been decided in 69 districts. It will take around another week for the council to develop in the remaining districts.
Mukesh Meshram, the principal secretary of tourism, culture and religious affairs said that the idea behind this enterprise is to stimulate native economies with tourism prospective, and inspire tourists, pilgrims and investors toward unfamiliar and unexploited attractions. It will also aid in revitalizing disappearing art forms, and reestablish locally substantial places of interest along with generating employment for the locals.
The council would be controlled by the district magistrate of a particular district. It will comprise a district tourism officer, regional tourism officer along with officers of the concerned division as its members. Meshram said that jointly they will work and find out places of interest and chart plans with the assistance of specialists for tourism substructure according to current demands and global criterions.
Once the base becomes prepared, the council will also unveil advertising campaigns in agreement with various stakeholders from the travel and hospitality sectors to lure tourists from both within India and abroad along with investors.
The DTCPC members will come together once every month to resolve questions linked to registration, application of inducements, exception in stamp duty, land renovation and development costs.
