Faridabad: NGO worker, two others caught for selling 9-year-old

GURUGRAM: The chief minister’s flying squad has busted a human trafficking racket in Faridabad and arrested three people, including two women. One of the women is associated with an NGO in Delhi, officials said.
The CM Flying Squad, on September 8, received a tip-off about the trio trying to sell a child in the Badarpur area of Faridabad.
Posing as a childless couple, two of the squad members got in touch with the accused. A deal was finalised for Rs 4.5 lakh and they decided to meet at a hotel in Badarpur.
Initially, one of the accused woman reached the hotel where the “couple” was waiting, after which another woman arrived with the nine-day-old girl. They exchanged sweets and the “couple” gave marked currency notes to the accused.
In the meantime, a team comprising Sunil Yadav, Bal Kalyan Samiti of Faridabad, along with local police, and the two women were caught red-handed. Cops arrested the third accused, who was waiting at a distance.
During investigation, it was found that the woman’s family ran an NGO in New Delhi.
The accused had taken the child from her biological parents promising a better future. “In most cases, they identify potential customers and sell children,” an official said.
A case was registered for child trafficking and criminal conspiracy against the three accused by the Faridabad police.
