Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral will take place Monday, Sept. 19, at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace said Saturday.
The monarch died peacefully Thursday at Balmoral in Scotland, the palace said. She was 96. Charles, Camilla, and Princess Anne were reportedly by the queen’s side as she died, as royal family members rushed to be there.
