ANJUNA: The demolition process of illegal structures at Curlies in Anjuna came to a halt after the Supreme Court granted stay on the demolition on Friday. The authorities, however, recommenced the demolition of illegal structures occupied by Curlies after demarcation of the property.
NGT had observed that all illegal structures around Curlies are occupied by Curlies.

The demolition started at around 7.45am in the presence of heavy police force and north Goa collector. TikTok star and Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat was allegedly given drugs at Curlies few hours before her death.
The demolition came to halt at around 11.20pm and by then nearly 15 per cent of the structure was demolished. The authorities were finding it difficult to transport the excavator to the spot as there was no proper road connectivity.
Counsel for Curlies, Gajanan Korgaonkar said that the Supreme Court has granted stay on demolition of structures in survey number 42/10. “We have been asked to stop commercial activities at Curlies till the hearing,” Korgaonkar said.
After the apex court granted stay on demolition in survey number 42/10 in which Curlies runs its operations, the state authorities started demarcating land in survey number 42/10 so that they can continue demolition of other illegal structures in other survey numbers.
After demarcating the land belonging to Curlies, state government authorities recommenced the demolition of illegal structure in other survey numbers at 3pm.
