JAIPUR: The Murlipura police launched an investigation after a 44-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his car on Wednesday evening.
SHO (Murlipura) Devendra Kumar said that Hanuman Saini was first spotted unconscious inside his car at 7pm.
“The car was parked outside a bar. The bar’s guard spotted Saini and alerted others about the incident,” Kumar said, adding that Saini was transported to a hospital where he later died.
The police said that a medical board conducted the post-mortem on Thursday morning. “We are investigating the case and are examining the CCTVs to ascertain what exactly transpired,” Kumar said, adding that a post-mortem report (PMR) will reveal the cause of death.
The police said that the deceased was a political worker and that he was active in local politics.
“He had stepped into his car sometime in the evening. He remained motionless in the car before people rushed him to hospital,” said an official on the condition of anonymity.
“The investigation is underway from all probable angles into the case. Once we have all the facts, we will be able to conclude anything,” said the official.
The sources told TOI that they were also examining the call data records (CDR) of the deceased to collect more information about the fact.
