Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.3% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

HCL Technologies(up 0.55 per cent), Infosys(up 0.45 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.44 per cent), Mindtree(up 0.39 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.3 per cent at 28186.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.45 points at 17897.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 299.58 points at 59987.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 7 were in the red.

Shares of , , , and Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Ltd, , Mohini Health & Hygi and Total Transport Sys hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., JFL Life Sciences Ltd., , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
