Rajkot: The local crime branch (LCB) on Thursday seized liquor worth Rs 24.48 lakh from a godown and arrested three people, including two Rajasthan natives. Acting on a tip-off, the LCB team raided the godown and caught Prashant Pandya, a resident of Bhavnagar and Mukesh Vadera and Elam Vadera of Rajasthan, who had come to deliver the consignment of 8,160 bottles. Police said the consignment was ordered by bootleggers Imran Kalwa and Paresh Patel of Bhavnagar. They are yet to be arrested.
Man caught for burglary
Rajkot: A man from Dahod’s Limkheda taluka was arrested for burgling a house in Junagadh last month. The accused, Kalpesh Parmar, had allegedly stolen Rs 5.8 lakh cash and 110g of gold ornaments, coins etc, a total worth Rs 7 lakh from the house of Jagmal Karanjiya on August 18 night. Police tracked the accused with bike’s registration plate.
