Surat sees more new cases than Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: After more than a year, Surat city on Thursday reported more new Covid cases (49) than Ahmedabad (48). The two cities accounted for 97 cases, or 48% of the 196 new cases in Gujarat. Ahmedabad city recorded one Covid death.
Gujarat now has 1,364 active cases, and Ahmedabad has 362. Five patients are on ventilators. Three districts had no active cases. Only three major cities -Vadodara city recorded 20 cases - reported more than 10 cases. tnn
