Cong chooses Opp leader

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation ward 38 (Bendore) corporator, Naveen R D’Souza, was appointed as leader of the opposition in the council by the Dakshina Kannada Congress committee here on Thursday. He was unanimously chosen in a meeting held under the presidentship of K Harish Kumar. The meeting was attended by MLA UT Khader, MLC Manjunath Bhandary, former MLAs B Ramanath Rai, Abhayachandra Jain, Shakuntala Shetty, Vasanth Bangera, Mohiudeen Bava, J R Lobo and other Congress corporators.
