Thane: Six persons were arrested by the Rabodi police for their involvement in 11 theft cases. Valuables worth Rs 6,65,000 was recovered from the accused persons, said a police official.
Sonali Dhole, assistant commissioner of police said, "The 11 cases of theft took place in the limits of Rabodi and Naupada police stations."
Dhole said that in the two areas, increased cases of theft were being reported and thus they formed a team to nab the accused.
After receiving a tip-off from their inform, the police swung into action and eventually nabbed all six of them.
"We have recovered looted items comprising of three auto-rickshaws, one mobile phone, one Shine model bike, jewellery and cash amounting Rs 6,65,000. The modus operandi was that they usually targeted the houses that were not covered by CCTV systems in the vicinity," Sonali Dhole said.
She further said that among the six accused, one is also wanted in an attempt to murder case.
