VADODARA: Zeel Vyas from the city stood ninth in the all-India rank (AIR) for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). The student of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in the city is now looking forward to pursue medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Zeel was upbeat regarding her performance and said that it was a result of the hard work of her parents and her teachers. "My parents supported me throughout my preparations for NEET," said Zeel who obtained 99.99 percentile scoring 710 marks.
Zeel said she chose biology over mathematics as she liked biology more. "I like maths too, but between the two I preferred biology," said that wannabe doctor who attributed her like for biology that helped her chose medicine as a career.
Daughter of Dr Vipul Vyas, Zeel has a strong background in medicine and related branches as her mother Vaishali too is a pharmacist. Dr
Vyas is an MD in general medicine.
According to Zeel her immediate focus was on completing MBBS. "I have not thought of any specific field for specializing after completing MBBS. I will do that at a later stage," she added.
At least, six other students from the Vadodara city obtained AIR below 500 in NEET.
