PRAYAGRAJ: Sangam city on Thursday reported four new dengue cases, taking the total number of cases to 27. While health officials claimed that 21 patients have recovered, six others are undergoing treatment at hospital and homes. District Malaria Officer (Prayagraj) AK Singh told reporters that four new cases, including a woman were reported from different localities, including Rajapur (22-year-old man), Dhoomanganj (25-year-old woman), Preetam Nagar (Six-year-old boy) and Bhagwatpur (18-year-old youth). He added that there are six active cases and four of them are hospitalized. He also claimed that 21 patients have already recovered. Singh also cautioned residents to take all preventive measures to check the spread of dengue, particularly those living in low-lying areas. More health teams have been assigned for anti-larva spraying.
The health department has already identified 60 hotspots in the district in view of spread of dengue cases. tnn
